The Importance of Agency and America

2 Nephi 9 is one of the great chapters on the atonement in the Book of Mormon. It is interesting to me that the chapter following this great discourse on the atonement is about this great land of promise in the Americas. Great promises are made to those that keep the commandments and have the Lord as their God. America will be a land of liberty where no king shall rule. This blessing is needed for the gift of agency to be carried out by individuals. America is part of the great plan of God. Marion G. Romney has a wonderful talk on America's promises.
